“Plausible though it sounds” đứng đầu câu đóng vai trò như là initial modifier và sẽ cần phải bổ nghĩa cho động từ đứng ngay sau dấu phẩy
Tuy nhiên “the weakness” là chủ ngữ của câu lại không make sense với modifier này vì chủ ngữ đúng của từ plausible phải là hypothesis mới hợp lý.

Chủ ngữ it trong mệnh đề đầu tiên sẽ thay thế cho weakness là chủ ngữ mệnh đề phía sau dấu phấy nên câu này cũng vẫn có lỗi sai về meaning. Hơn nữa, viết “Even though it sounds plausible” khiến câu dài dòng hơn so với “Though plausible, SVO”

Chủ ngữ của plausible vẫn là weakness nên câu C vẫn mắc lỗi sai về meaning

Câu D là đáp án đúng vì mô tả được chính xác the hypothesis là thứ plausible

Cụm từ “which sounds plausible” nên được set off bởi hai dấu phẩy để có thể dễ nhận ra cấu trúc chính của câu là “the weakness of the hypothesis is that”. Tuy nhiên, khi cho plausible nằm trong phần modifier với which (là non-essential modifier) thì lại thay đổi nội dung gốc của câu vì không còn giữ được yếu tố contrast trong câu gốc khi sử dụng mệnh đề nhương bộ.
